SS23 is clearly all about the shorts, however, they tend to put the fear of god into the average woman above the age of 35. Fear not, subtle styling tweaks make these looks feel cohesive and curated: less beach boardwalk, more city style appropriate.

The Bermuda Short

Jennifer Lawrence has impeccable New York City style and I love the way she styled this tailored look with on trend accessories; the cross body bag keeps the look relaxed while pointed mules are leg lengthening with a longer short.

1. Massimo Dutti’s 100% linen Bermuda shorts are extremely wearable with subtle pleats and lightly rolled cuffs.

2. This poplin cotton midnight and royal blue striped shirt is reminiscent of an old Celine one with the contrast design. I also love this fitted Plastron shirt by Victoria Beckham with ties to created a more fitted look.

The Ivory Short

Women in ivory shades tend to scream wealth (after all, doesn’t everything need dry cleaning?!) and this look is very Malibu money with a causal twist: the classic shapes with softer textures make this feel contemporary and relaxed despite the polished elements. The Row’s rich tobacco Margaux leather tote anchors the look while minimal black sliders are all that’s needed for footwear.
