Wearable clothes emerged as the biggest trend at Milan fashion week. Swathes of grey, inspiration from ‘normal people’ and lightweight wool tailoring saw a normally brazen fashion week redefined as ‘wearable’ with real-life relatability.
Quiet clothing has always been the superstar of a well curated wardrobe. Get the basics right and the edgier, trend-led pieces will fit in seamlessly. The hero at Prada? A ubiquitous grey knit.
Origami white skirts with new Prada low-heeled sling backs ( the perfect bridal shoe in my opinion) appeared nonchalant when paired with the classic grey knit. It reminded me in the late 2010’s when Jenna Lyon debuted a cream cashmere jumper (from J Crew, obviously) with a feathered skirt at the Met Ball - truly the definition of effortless chic and spearheading the rise of normcore on the red carpet.
