SÉBLINE & STAPLE SALE BUYS
There’s still time to find forever wardrobe staples in the depths of the sales.
Unlike most people, I actually find this point in the sales to be the best time to buy well. The flashy trend-led pieces are sold out and the e-commerce landscape is left with some hidden timeless gems as consumers struggle to consider the seasons ahead. I’m incredibly strict in my sale buys and I don’t buy something unless I know it will be useful for multiple seasons to come. Here is where I find saved ‘wishlists’ from the beginning of the season to be an incredibly discerning tool. Usually at this stage there is an extra 15 - 25% off sale buys too as retailers attempt to clear the previous seasons before fresh autumn & winter drops so it’s definitely worth browsing for timeless wardrobe additions.
SÉBLINE
One of my must-watch brands at the moment is SÉBLINE. Charles Sébline honed his skills working under Yves Saint Laurent, so you can rely on his eponymous label for precisely tailored pieces with an effortless Parisian feel. The tagline? ‘A shirt collection for men, likely to be stolen by women.’ Utterly brilliant. The luxuriously sourced cotton-poplin is as beautiful as you would expect and the cuts are brilliant (albeit size up in my opinion). I’m a huge fan of the classic tailored shirts and striped kaftans in particular: effortless and timeless pieces for city to beach style. The prices are higher-end (they are as close to couture as mainline can manage) yet on sale, much more affordable as investment pieces. There are quite a few sizes left as this is a brand not everyone knows about yet. If it’s good enough for Cate Blanchette….
