I really love a bargain. I blame this on my Scandinavian and Persian genetics - from the bazaars of Tehran to the Imerico’s of Scandinavia, both cultures get a thrill out of shopping a well designed piece at a low price. I’ve always been a considered shopper, someone who gets a thrill out of finding a classic piece at a really good price but who also knows when paying full price makes best sense. If I buy something, I have to know I will wear it at least fifty times and it will see through a few years of wear and tear, not just a season. With my background that means I can skim across trends, focus on fabrics and go on gut feeling around shopping. I really despise throwing clothing away and am proud to say that I very rarely do.
These sale buys have been on my radar and I’ve edited down the last of the pieces I would seriously consider, for good reason! Often the pieces that can go the distance get lost in the trenches of the sales. My advice? Natural fabrics, timeless colours and hunt down brands with a proper design team. I’ve picked pieces with substantial stock but do click fast, I suspect they won’t stay long.
